Middle School Careers Day February 19th, in Hutchinson, KS - 9:00am-3:00pm

ESSDACK regrets to inform you that it is necessary to cancel, for this year, the Middle School Careers Day due to lack of availability from the Business and Post-Secondary partners, the burden of funding residing on the district and/or students, and ensuring alignment with the new Kansas Work-based Learning document. This decision was not an easy one to make, but rest assured, that ESSDACK is rethinking the structure of a Middle School Career Day that will lead students to a deeper understanding of career opportunities and the future needs of employers, while ensuring alignment with work-based learning principles. It is always the intent of  ESSDACK to provide quality services that are meaningful and tied directly to accomplishing the Kansas vision of leading the world in the success of EACH student.  Your understanding and continued support is greatly appreciated. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.

In an effort to help school districts meet state requirements, and bring Career Fields to life, ESSDACK is hosting it’s 1st annual Middle School Careers Day. Business & Industry partners volunteer their time to engage students and show them what they do for a living. The Careers Day is setup like a field trip day, with a $10 fee per student. Business sponsorships, if acquired, will allow us reduce this cost.

The Middle School Careers Day will be a Full-Day event filled with learning by doing job stations separated by the seven career fields, as defined in the Kansas Career Clusters Model. This event is structured specifically for middle school students to begin in-depth exploration of their career opportunities, and skills necessary for a variety of career fields.
